Baikunthapur Rajbari of Jalpaiguri Celebrating 505th anniversaryof Durga Puja.

Baikunthapur Rajbari Durga Puja is one of the oldest Durga Puja started during 16th Century at Baikunthapur Rajbari by Raja Shishya Singha, who was the founder of the Rajkot Kingdom.

This year they are celebrating 505th anniversary of Durga Puja.

Patkata Colony Cultural Club O Pathaghar, Jalpaiguri

This club is celebrating 56th anniversary of Durga Puja. The Puja Committee Secretary Mr. Pradeep Karmakar, said that this year the Puja pandal theme is based on South Indian Shiv Mandir. Material like, sun-pack sheets, fibre, thermocole, etc are used to decorate their Durga Puja Pandal. The Puja Pandal is decorated by Sarkar Decorator from Krishna Nagar and the Durga Puja idol is decorated by Ramesh Paul from Kumar Toli, Kolkata.

There are various ongoing activities during durga puja like, AIDS awareness program, Cloth Distribution, Blood Donation Camps, etc.

Babupara Durga Puja Committee, Jalpaiguri Coke Bottle Cap Art Work

Babupara Durga Puja Committee is celebrating 103rd anniversary of durga puja. This puja committee is the oldest puja committee in Jalpaiguri. This year the Puja pandal is decorated using the Coke Bottle Cap Art Work based on world famous people. The puja committee secretary, Sri Ashok Chatterjee said, the local artist have decorated the pandal and statue.

Common Bhod and Prasad is provided for all for 4 days.

The overall budget of this Durga Puja Committee is estimated to 5 lakhs.

Samajpara Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee, Jalpaiguri

This Puja Committee is celebrating their 60th anniversary of Durga Puja Celebration. This year their Durga Puja pandal is based on Dhak(Famous Musical Drum played During Festival in Bengal). In this occasion Puja Committee President, Bappaditto Hore and Secretary, Mr. Toton Sen Guoto said that the whole pandal is based on Dhak and is made of Mud, Thermocole and Bamboo by a team of local decorators.

The club is oraganizes various activities during Durga Puja like, Oloo Dhwani Pratiyogita, Cloth Distribution among poor and needy, Mahabhog along with get-together among ward people.

Agrani Sangha Durga Puja Pandal based on Hogla Patta, Jalpaiguri

Agrani Sangha located at Jalapiguri is celebrating their 57th anniversary of Durga Puja. This year the club has used Hogla Patta to decorate their Durga Puja Pandal. Dilip Paul from Sarkar Decorators, Dhupguri and his team have decorated the Puja Pandal and the idol is brought from Kumartoli, Siliguri.

During durga puja there are various ongoing social and cultural activities.

Old Police Line Durga Puja Committee, Jalpaiguri

Old Police Line Durga Puja Committee located at Jalpaiguri is one of the renowned Durga Puja Committee established in 1948 and currently celebrating 66th anniversary of Durga Puja patronized by MP (Member of Parliament) Mr.Bijay Chandra Barman. The Puja Pandal of this Durga Puja Committee is decorated Jute, Thermocole and Local art by a Blind and Deaf group of Swaptaran using Pedy Stick (Khor).

The conveyor of Puja Committee Mr. Alok Sudhir Sarkar said that they are organizing Swagat Samman Samaroh for senior citizens names as Gunijan 2014, Blood Donation Camp, Cloth Distribution to Poor and Needy, Cultural Program by various artist to give recommendation from their Puja Stage Platform, Various Awareness Programs, Books and Stationery Distributions.

The Act. President of this Puja Committee is Mr. Haripada Samanta.

Dishari Club Puja Pandal made of Decorative Colorful Stones, Deshbandhu Para , Jalpaiguri

Dishari Club located at Deshbandhu Para, Jalpaiguri is celebrating their 51st anniversary of Durga Puja. On this occasion the club member Mr. Arup Karmakar said the Puja Theme is based on Kalpnik MAdir made of Colorful Decorative Stones. The decorator of this Puja Pandal is Suruchi Decorators from Nawadip and the Maa Durga idol is also from Nawadip.The lighting is decorated by local decorators.

The president of this Durga Puja Committee is Mr. D.P.Roy and Secretary Mr. Chandra Karmakar.

Cloth Distribution and Khichdi  Bitran(Narayan Sewa) will be their major activities during Durga Puja.

Bangla Baul Gaan Based Durga Puja Pandal using 1000 Ek Taara (Musical Instruments)

Mohoripara Sarwajanin Durga Puja Samiti located at Jalpaiguri have selected Baul Gaan theme for Durga Puja this year. The Durga Puja of this Puja Committee is organized by Vivekananda Sporting and Cultural Club. This year they are celebrating 64th anniversary of Durga Puja.The Puja Committee Secretary Mr. Uttam Bose said, 1000 Ek Tara (Musical Instruments) are used to decorate this Puja pandal which is fully based on Baul Gaan (The famous Folk Music of Bengal).

30 baul gaan singing models are placed in Puja Pandal by the artists Alok Paul from Krishna Nagar, West Bengal. The idol is designed by local artist, Mona Paul.

Various activities are ongoing during Durga Puja in this club.

Panda Para Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee

Pandapara Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee, one of the renowned puja committee located at Jalpaiguri is celebrating their 86th anniversary of Durga Puja. This year the puja committee have selected encephalitis awareness theme in durga puja. The pandal is made using thermocol, plaster, bamboo, etc.

Free eye checkup camps, general awareness program, blood donation camp and common welfare program are being organized during durga puja by this puja committee.
