New Bengal Club Durga Puja 2016 Thane Mumbai ready for Eco-friendly Durga Puja

Durga Puja 2016 is closer as Navratri is already started and Thane’s reputed New Bengal Club Durga Puja is ready to get inaugurated. This year’s Durga Puja will be celebrated from 6th October 2016 to 11th October 2016 at Mullabaug , in front of Neelkanth Woods, Manpada , Thane (west), Mumbai. This year the puja pandal is bringing nature’s glory to Thane by erecting “Babaui Pakhir Basha’s” nest also called as “Baya Ka Ghosla” at its Mulla Baug ground venue.

This year, the eco-friendly durga puja madap will be seen at New Bengal Club’s puja pandal from October 6th to 11th. Contemporary artist, Nepakl Biswas of Kalyani, West Bengal is the pandal artist. Dry leaves, dry grass, coconut tree, supari tree, etc, are used to make the nest structure of puja pandal and the entire decoration is eco-friendly including both the interior and outer decoration.

The Maa Durga idol is made by none other than sculptor Pradip Rudra Pal from in Kumartuli, Kolkata, who is the consecutive winner of Asian Paints Sharad Samman awards. The’idol is made using the clay from Ganges in very eco-friendly. A Meuseum on Wheelbus, created by Chhatrapati Sangrahalaya will also be stationed at the venue during Durga Puja. The mission is to spread knowledge about culture and history among students.

Over the 20000 sq.ft area venue, over 10 lakh visitors are expected during the seven day celebration said, Mr. Dipak Sen Gupta, President, New Bengal Club, Thane West, Mumbai.

As usual every evening during the festival will be filled with various entertaining cultural programs.This includes performances by popular bollywood artists, local artists and talented artists from Kolkata.

One more additional attraction of this year’s Durga Puja will be the display of one “Ek chala Sholar Durga Protima” of size 2 ft by 1.5 ft enclosed in a fibre casing in our pandal, sponsored by M/s Sirkar & Sons Jewellers, Ghatkopar , Mumbai.

There will be a lucky draw among the participants who will sponsors Durga Idol i.e Rs. 18000/ and above and the winner will get the above beautiful Shola idol of Maa Durga. The actual photograph of the idol is attached.

Puja Details with tentative timings are given below. Final program schedule will be circulated in coming days.

Thursday 6th October – Panchami – Anandamela ( fun fare) – 4pm onward.
Bodhan – 7pm


Friday 7th October Maha Sasthi – Puja – 8am
Pushpanjali – 10am , Bhog Prasad – 1pm , Amantran and Adhibas – 7pm, Entertainment program – 8pm.


Saturday 8th October – Maha Saptami – Puja – 7am ,
Pushpanjali- 11 am, Bhog Prasad – 1-30pm , Sandhya Arati — 7pm , Entertainment Program – 8pm.


Sunday 9th October – Maha Ashtami – Puja – 7 am , Pushpanjali- 10am, Bhog Prasad – 1-30pm , Sandhi Puja – 5-10 pm , Entertainment program – 8 pm.


Monday 10th October – Maha Navami – Puja – 7-30 am, Pushpanjali – 11-30 am, Bhog Prasad – 1-30 pm , Sandhya Arati – 7pm , Entertainment program -8pm


Tuesday 11th October – Bijoya Dashami – Puja – 9 am , Pushpanjali – 10-30 am, Darpan Visarjan – 11 am , Sindoor Utsav – 3-30 pm , Immersion procession – 7pm and Shantijal – 10pm.
